Bonaly is situated on the south side of Edinburgh, at the foot of the Pentland hills. It is just 6km from the centre of Edinburgh. The number 10 bus will take you from Princes Street [city centre map] (the castle side) to the bottom of Bonaly Road (in approx 20 minutes). It is then a 10 minute walk to the Scout Centre. AirEdinburgh Airport at Turnhouse is 6km from Bonaly. A taxi can take you
to Bonaly, or you can use one of the regular buses to travel into Edinburgh's
city centre. RailEdinburgh Waverley, one of the main stations in Scotland, it has direct trains to and from the largest cities in Britain. The station is located next to Princes Street (Edinburgh's main shopping street) where you can step onto a number 10 bus to Bonaly Road. narrow and it is not possible for coaches to come right up
into the camp site. However coaches can be parked nearby in
Torduff Road across the bypass and equipment transported to
the site by tractor and trailer.
